 I have two classes starting at the Westerville Community Center (350 N. Cleveland Avenue) one January 18  and the second March 1. The first class is directed toward watercolor, but the second is applicable to any media.

You can register by contacting the Center at (614) 901 6500 or in person at the Center. Cost is $55 for Westervile residents and $65 for non residents.
 

Painting Landscapes and Seascapes   

 

6 Weeks                                                                    Instructor:  Charles Rowland

January 18-February 22   7:00pm - 9:00pm

 

Learn the techniques used to paint realistic representations of the elements found in landscapes and seascapes. In each class we will focus on one of the elements (skies, trees and shrubs, water, buildings, rocks and mountains, and figures, with lots of demos, individual assistance and learning by painting along with the instructor. Reference materials will be provided or bring your own.

All levels of experience are welcome. A supply list will be available at registration, cost of supplies approximately $35.

 

Painting from Photographs

 

6 Weeks                                                                    Instructor:  Charles Rowland

March 1-April 5   7:00pm - 9:00pm

 

Use your photographs to create exciting paintings. You’ll learn how to extract the key elements from photos, simplify the subject and create powerful compositions for your paintings. Develop a new painting each week with individual instruction and demonstrations. Work from your photos or the instructors. Open to all levels of experience. Supply list available at the Community Center.

    Elaine Freeman's will teaching a Pastel class at Gallery 202, 38 N State St in
Westerville. Dates are Wed, Nov 2, 16, and Dec 7 from 3-5:00. Cost is $45.

Classes at the new Westerville Co-op Gallery - 38 North State Street    890-8202

Watercolor Class: Beginners welcome.

Wed. January 11,2006. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
$60 ($55 co op members) for 4 classes. Or $75 for 6 classes (0ne 3 hour class for free). Make check payable to Janet Waggoner
min 4 max 8 persons in a class. Classes will be on going through the spring as long as enough people are interested. This will also allow for make up times if you need to miss a class.
This class stresses color mixing and composition using positive and negative painting techniques.
If you have not painted in watercolors before you will need these materials: 1/2 sheets of
140# watercolor paper stretched and ready to paint on, artist grade colors of WN Aureolin Yellow, Winsor Blue (red shade), Alizarin Crimson and Paynes Gray. Brushes: ∏ flat , #2 or #3, # 6, #12 or #14 rounds. A #2 pencil and a soft eraser. Water containers, paper towels and tissues and a mixing tray with compartments for the individual colors (not metal). These supplies are available at Prizm on Polaris Parkway.

    The Artist's Roost Studio, which has been located over Scottie MacBean Roastery in Olde Worthington, is moving to a restored historic lo house at 6390 Ulry Road (just east and south of Hoover Dam) Painting and drawing classes will continue to be offered at the new location in the form of retreats, beginner or advanced levels.
